OUR INITIATIVES
Climate Justice Project
Our project is aimed at supporting the vulnerable populations who are the most susceptible to the effects of climate change. So far, we have been able to host shoe drives, clothing drives, as well as meal packaging events. In partnership with Kids Against Hunger, we have packed 7,000+ meals in our Bay Area branch alone.
Indigenous people's traditional practices allow them to live more sustainably, opting for natural things and respecting nature. We started this project to learn more and share about their lifestyles, as well as expanding their skillset through teaching English.
An innovative initiative aimed at reducing waste in our communities, the Coffee Grounds Project repurposes used coffee grounds from local shops as fertilizer. ESS then delivers the grounds to farmers and gardeners, promoting agricultural sustainability
Presentations
As climate change becomes more urgent by the minute, it is crucial that students are being educated about this complex issue. To spread climate awareness, ESS partners with schools in our area to teach youth about environmentalism as well as encourage sustainability.
Beach Cleanups
Our oceans contain over fifty percent of all life on the planet, yet it's still being used as a dumping ground for our trash. As a citizen of the Earth, it is our duty to preserve our beautiful beaches and shorelines.
Ark Review is a literary magazine publishing poetry, prose, and artwork centered around environmental themes. Led by experienced writer Mason Young, it aims to uplift youth voices and encourage readers to take action against ecological issues.
One of our first projects, ESS publishes weekly environmentally-themed blogs on our Wordpress on a variety of topics, including climate news as well as tips and tricks on living a more sustainable life!
Other
Aside from our main projects, we also help out at some gardening events.
